Know-how from nearly 15 years in tarps
-
It still catches wind
Mesh lets some air through, but on a fence it still acts like a sail. Fasten every grommet to a solid frame or posts.
-
Shade and privacy in one
About 60% shade, and it blocks the view from outside.
-
It drains
Rain passes through, so it doesn't fill with water and sag.
Questions we hear most
Does it keep rain out?
No. Mesh lets air and rain through, so it doesn't trap heat or fill with water. To keep things dry, use a solid vinyl tarp.
What does the shade percentage mean?
It's roughly how much sunlight the mesh blocks. 70% shade lets about 30% of the light through.
How should I tie it down?
Use every grommet. Rubber tarp straps or bungees stretch with the gusts, so the tarp stays put without tearing at the grommets. Rope works on a cover that doesn't move, as long as it stays tight. See our tarp straps.
Is the listed size the cut size or the finished size?
Cut size. The finished tarp is about 3 to 5% smaller after hemming. If you need every inch covered, go one size up.
